This page sets out the limits of what the calculators on https://mccabe-solutions.com can and cannot do. It forms part of our Terms of Use.

1. No professional engineering relationship

Using this Site does not create an engineer–client relationship. We do not know your project, your boundary conditions, your jurisdiction or your safety case, and we therefore cannot and do not provide professional engineering advice, certification or sign-off.

2. Why a result may not match your case

• Idealised models. Modules apply standard textbook formulations. Real equipment departs from them through fouling, wear, manufacturing tolerance, ageing and off-design operation.
• Correlation validity. Empirical correlations are fitted to a specific range of Reynolds number, geometry, roughness, pressure or temperature. Outside that range the error grows quickly, sometimes without any obvious warning sign.
• Property data. Interpolated property tables carry the uncertainty of the source data and of the interpolation itself, which is largest near saturation lines, critical points and phase boundaries.
• Simplifying assumptions. Steady state, one-dimensional flow, adiabatic walls, ideal-gas behaviour, uniform properties and fully developed flow are assumed where the module says so. Your installation may violate them.
• Transient and upset conditions. Start-up, shutdown, surge, water hammer, two-phase transients and emergency scenarios are outside the scope of these tools.

3. What you remain responsible for

• Confirming that the model chosen is appropriate for your physical situation.
• Validating input data, units and property sources.
• Applying the safety factors, design margins and design codes required in your jurisdiction — for example ASME, API, TEMA, ASHRAE, ISO, EN or local equivalents.
• Using certified manufacturer performance data for equipment selection rather than a generic curve.
• Obtaining independent review and, where required, the seal of a licensed professional engineer.

4. Accuracy and completeness

We take care with the implementations and correct reported errors promptly, but we make no warranty that any calculation, correlation, table or chart on this Site is accurate, current or complete. Software errors, data-entry errors and browser-specific behaviour are all possible.

5. Safety-critical applications

Do not rely on this Site for pressure-equipment design, relief-system sizing, structural adequacy, fire protection, hazardous-area classification, or any application where failure could cause injury, loss of life, environmental damage or major property loss. Use software validated for that purpose, under qualified supervision.

6. Educational use

Students and instructors are welcome to use the Site to check work and to explore parameter sensitivity. It is a verification aid, not a replacement for understanding the derivation, and it should be used according to your institution's academic-integrity rules.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Engineering Suite B2B accepts no liability for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise — arising from the use of, or reliance on, any result, chart or calculation record produced by this Site. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
